Abstract

This roundtable will discuss bottom-up approaches for the safe and reliable conduct of exploration and prospecting activities in lunar resources. The panelists will present three key initiatives and studies conducted in these areas by the Breaking Ground Trust, the Lunar and Planetary Institute and ispace Europe. Building upon these foundations, the panel will discuss which steps should be undertaken to enable the establishment of uniform protocols and standards for the conduct of space resource activities on the Moon in a reliable, safe and sustainable manner. The diverse pool of proposed panelists will ensure a multidisciplinary discussion that takes into account various viewpoints from the space community. The moderator has recently achieved a PhD in the governance of space resources and is an experienced host of high-level panel discussions on these subjects at international events
